This isn't a craft blog by any means, but I had fun with a crafty project recently so I thought I'd share the results!
One of my favourite things to in Japan is to spend hours shopping in the incredible craft and stationery shops. Even if you're not usually an artistic kind of person, it's almost impossible not to get caught up in the overwhelming world of ribbon, paper, pens, and stamps. The huge variety of colours and patterns almost convinces you that you should drop a couple of thousand yen on paper that will most likely be crushed in your suitcase on the way home.
Sadly, Melbourne is lacking in the huge range of cute crafting supplies found in Japan, but luckily we have the next best thing - Daiso. I picked up all of these supplies there, and my total came to about $30 - not bad!
I spent an evening experimenting with different textures, colours, and patterns; something I honestly haven't done in quite a long time. Most of my artistic side comes out on digital mediums, so it was actually pretty fun to create something with my hands (all while watching old episodes of Flight of the Conchords).
I definitely recommend getting crafty every once in a while - the next present I have to wrap is going to look spectacular!
