The First Glimpse of Spring in Melbourne

You know spring has arrived in Melbourne when the weather forecast guarantees a sunny, 23-degree day and it starts to rain while you're out enjoying the weekend. Despite the temperamental weather, I was so excited to be able to ditch my tights and venture out with bare legs. Umbrella packed safely away in my bag, I headed to Royal Park, one of my favourite parks in Melbourne.

With the wind picking up, we increased our pace out of the park and towards Miss Katie's Crab Shack on Johnston Street, Fitzroy. Located inside the refurbished Rochester Hotel (a place I spent many nights dancing to the best indie rock bangers circa 2008-2011), it hosts a pretty impressive menu that begs to be shared with others. Fries with blue cheese sauce, soft shell crab sliders, and a bourbon cocktail made for an incredible lunch that was perfect after the hour-long walk.

Thoroughly satisfied after an indulgent meal, the rest of the afternoon was spent window shopping on Smith Street until the tempremental weather forced us home. Melbourne, you're pretty great but I'll never get used to your weather!
