You may have noticed a slight change in my appearance recently. Yes, I took the plunge and dyed my hair blonde. I spent the first 14 or so years of my life with blonde hair before dying it brown and have gone back and forth a couple of times since. And so here we are, back again at blonde. I suppose I am destined to always want to change my hair, but for now I'm going to enjoy the novelty of lighter hair.
As I've dyed my hair blonde a few times now, I'm acutely aware of the havoc it can wreck on your hair. In this instance, I haven't bleached it but have done so in the past and am determined to avoid the damage it caused then. I'm happy to report that after three weeks with blonde hair the following products have kept my hair in line and would recommend checking them out if you're thinking of going blonde yourself.
John Frieda Beach Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner: I ADORE these products, they smell absolutely incredible! The name is a little deceiving, as they're not made specifically for blonde hair only, but they definitely help counteract the damage often associated with dying your hair blonde.
Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo: I use this in conjunction with the Beach Blonde shampoo when I wash my hair. For those who are unaware, purple toned shampoo are a must-have for blonde hair, as it counteracts the yellow and brassy tones that often come through. I have to say, this product is pretty incredible. My hair still looks as blonde as it did the day I dyed it, and there isn't a hint of brassyness anywhere!
Eleven Australia 3 Minute Repair Rinse Out Treatment: I bought this from my hairdresser as they recommended it as a fantastic weekly treatment to use in place of conditioner. I'm glad to say that it was a great recommendation, as it's keeping my hair nice and healthy with minimal breakage. When you've dyed you hair blonde, I highly advise you to invest in a repair treatment as your hair will almost certainly need the extra TLC.
Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum: Ok, so this may be the best smelling hair product I've ever used! I add a pump of it through my ends after towel drying my hair, and it makes my hair incredibly soft and smooth! Again, this isn't aimed at blonde's only, but as dying your hair blonde makes you more prone to breakage it definitely helps combat it.
